Casper Test Dates for 2026-27: How Booking Actually Works
Casper test dates for 2026-27 live in exactly one place: Acuity's official Dates and Fees tool, filtered by your country, test type, and the programs you're applying to. We deliberately don't republish that table — third-party date lists go stale within weeks, and a stale date is worse than no date — but the booking mechanics, the results clock, and the school deadlines that set your real cutoff don't change nearly as fast. That's what this page covers.
Why we won't paste a date table here
Dates differ by country, by test type, and sometimes by program. Any list we copied today would quietly rot, and several pages ranking for this query prove the point: they carry last cycle's table, or the retired test format alongside it. The tool is the authority. Use it logged out to scout, and inside your account to book.
The booking mechanics that don't change
Casper runs on fixed dates at fixed times — you pick from scheduled sittings, not an on-demand window. Acuity's own instruction is to register at least three days before your preferred date, to leave room for identity verification and payment processing, and slots can fill before then. Booking requires an Acuity Insights account with a government-issued photo ID, under the same name and email as your program applications.
You pay when you reserve: a base test fee plus a distribution fee per program, with exact amounts shown in the Dates and Fees tool (another number we won't copy here — it's displayed at booking, and fee-assistance-program applicants test free). All fees are final and non-refundable. And if you need testing accommodations, the paperwork deadline is four weeks before your test — for late-window test dates, that form may be your earliest real deadline of all.
Your real deadline is your school's, not Acuity's
The last date in the tool is almost never the date that matters. Scores take roughly 2-3 weeks to reach programs (your own quartile arrives later, around 4-5 weeks), and every school sets its own last acceptable sitting or score-arrival cutoff. A few 2026-27 examples we've confirmed on schools' own pages:
That date has passed.

It can already be too late: Dalhousie ran just three sittings for this cycle, and the last one passed on August 27, 2026. If Dalhousie was on your list and you missed it, that application is over this cycle — which is exactly why the which schools require Casper list on this site is date-stamped and links every school's own page.
So work backwards. Take the earliest deadline among your programs, subtract three weeks for score delivery, and treat the sitting before that as your last safe date. Booking earlier than your last safe date isn't caution theater; it's the only slack you get — Acuity re-tests only verified technical failures, so a sitting that simply goes badly is your score for the cycle.
One test per type, per cycle — so pick programs first
You can't take the same Casper test type twice in one admissions cycle, and a score is valid for one cycle, one test type, and one language. Test types aren't interchangeable either — a US professional health sciences Casper doesn't cover a Canadian program, and vice versa. The practical order is therefore backwards from what most people do: select your programs inside your Acuity account first, let that determine your test type, and only then look at dates. Book before your program list is settled and you risk paying for the wrong test type — with no in-cycle do-over.
When should you actually take it?
Earlier in your window than feels necessary. The test itself is 65-85 minutes, but candidates consistently report that the typed section's 3.5-minute two-question pace is the part that punishes a cold start — familiarity with the clock is most of the preparation. A sensible sequence: confirm your program list, book a sitting comfortably before your last safe date, then spend the run-up doing timed practice. Our timed practice sim runs the current 11-scenario format under the real time limits; for what the sitting itself involves, start with what the test involves.
One honest note to end on: this page tells you how dates and booking work, and it will stay maintained — but the sitting you book should always come from the official tool, on the day you book it. That's not us hedging; that's how a test run by a single administrator on a rolling calendar actually has to be used.

FAQ
How much does the real Casper test cost?
Acuity charges a base fee plus a per-program distribution fee, published only in the Dates and Fees tool in your Acuity account — check there for current amounts. US applicants with approved fee assistance (AAMC FAP and similar) may test free.
How do you register for the Casper test?
Entirely inside an Acuity Insights account. Create one with a government-issued photo ID, under the same name and email as your program applications. Then — before you look at dates — select the programs you're applying to, because your program list determines which test type you need, and you can't take the same test type twice in one cycle. Only then open the Dates and Fees tool, pick a sitting, and pay at reservation: a base fee plus a per-program distribution fee, both shown at booking. Acuity's own instruction is to reserve at least three days ahead, leaving room for identity verification and payment processing.
Is there a deadline to register for Casper?
Two, and the one Acuity enforces isn't the one that matters. Acuity's rule is only that you reserve at least three days before your sitting — but slots can fill before that, and your real deadline is your earliest school's: scores take roughly 2-3 weeks to reach programs, so take that school's cutoff, subtract three weeks, and book a sitting comfortably before it. The body of this page walks the math; then spend the run-up on how to prepare once you're booked
When do Casper test dates open for 2026-27?
On a rolling basis, not on a single opening day. Dates appear by country and test type in the Dates and Fees tool — when we walked the tool on August 31, 2026, some test types were open for reservation while others were still marked as coming soon. Acuity doesn't announce a release calendar in advance, so the honest answer is: log in and check, and don't rely on any third-party date list, including this page.
Can you sign up for Casper before choosing your schools?
You can, but you shouldn't. Your program selections determine your test type, a score is valid for one cycle, one test type, and one language, and a US professional health sciences Casper doesn't cover a Canadian program (or vice versa). Book before your list is settled and you risk paying for the wrong test type with no in-cycle do-over. Programs first, then dates.
